Scope and Contents
	     Price’s notes are interleaved with Thomas D. Mütter’s Syllabus of the course of lectures on principles and
practice of surgery (Philadelphia, 1847) and expand on printed text. Notes occur in chronological order
from 23 October 1848 through 22 February 1849 and consider inflammation, wounds, diseases of bones and
joints, abdominal wounds, syphilis, and amputation. There are also a few pages of Price’s review notes,

             The collection contains fourteen letters received, 18361848, 
by Jeremiah B. Stubbs, primarily from his brother, S. B. Stubbs, 
with matriculation and lecture admission tickets, 1826, from 
Jefferson Medical College.  Several of the letters from S. B. Stubbs and one letter from Samuel 
Webster describe the conditions, faculty, medical education, 
and student life at Jefferson during the 1830s and early 1840s;
