Overview
This collection consists of over 1800 illustrations, engravings, and photographs of skin conditions taken from various sources (journals and books) and pasted on black paper, often with a description on the verso. Also included in this collection are an incomplete set of the Stereoscopic Skin Clinic stereograph cards by Selden Irwin Rainforth, 1910; and various dermatological stereograph cards with descriptions from Albert Niesser's Stereoskopischer Medizinischer Atlas, 1894-1911.
Dermatological conditions represented include: acne, dermatitis, eczema, epithelioma, lichen planus, lupus, pellagra, psoriasis, scabies, syphilis, and variola.
The compiler of this collection is unknown.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The collection was found during the Archives survey in 2015. A note on the box read:
"From Mutter Museum record: Stereoscopic skin clinic by Selden Irwin Rainforth, 1910; 'Specimen no. HMP - Box 50'. Not cataloged. Shelved at Cage 6/30/4/3 in a large brown pamphlet box. Illustrations from various sources mounted on black paper." Accession record not found (7/21/09); no title, etc. inside or on outside of box.
