This collection contains a typescript of the paper "The superiority of inoculations with mixed triple vaccine (B. Typhosus, B. Paratyphosus A, and B. Paratyphosus B): Over successive inoculations with the single vaccines, as shown by agglutinin curves in men and rabbits." The typescript includes edits in pencil. Also included are accompanying figures and a reprint of the publication. In the paper, Davison presents evidence that a mixed "triple" vaccine provided superior immune response against enteric fevers.

Biographical / Historical
Wilburt Cornell Davison (1892-1972) was a physician and educator. Born on April 28, 1892, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Davison grew up in Long Island, New York. He earned an AB from Princeton University in 1913, a BA from Oxford University in 1915, a BS from Oxford in 1916, a MD from Johns Hopkins University in 1917, and a MA from Oxford in 1919. Interspersed with his studies, Davison served with the American Red Cross on a typhus commission in France and Serbia from 1914 to 1915, and in the Allied Expeditionary Force medical corps from 1917 to 1919.
Davison served in a variety of roles including instructor, acting head of pediatrics, and assistant dean of the school of medicine at Johns Hopkins University from 1919 to 1927. In 1926, he was recruited by Duke University to plan, organize, build, and direct the new Duke University School of Medicine and Medical Center.
He authored over two hundred scientific and professional publications, including a compendium on pediatric practice for medical students entitled The Compleat Pediatrician.
Davison retired from Duke in 1961. He died of leukemia on June 26, 1972.
