Overview
             Edward H. Dixon (1808-1880) was a New York City surgeon.  Dixon earned his M.D. from Rutgers Medical College in 1829 or 1830, and then studied material medica, theory and practice, and therapeutics under Dr. John Francis; and surgery under Dr. Alexander Mott.  Afterwards, Dixon accepted positions at the Deaf and Dumb Asylum and House of Refuge. Scope and Contents
	     This small collection documenting Ludwig Loeb's medical education 
in 1890 contains his M.D. diploma from Jefferson Medical College, 
a certificate of attendance in an anatomy course at the Philadelphia 
School of Anatomy and Surgery, and a certificate of attendance 
in a course of practical obstetrics at the Philadelphia Lying

Scope and Contents
             The collection consists of Myles Synnott's diploma from 
Jefferson Medical College, 1831, and financial records, 1834-1866, 
from his Glassboro practice.  These financial records consist 
of a daybook, 1854-1861, with a chronological listing of patients 
and a summary of the transaction, and four ledgers,  numbered 
B through E, 18341866.  The ledgers are organized by name of
