Daybook, [1754] Mar. 6-1756 Nov. 30, documenting medical practice in Hebron, Conn.; attributed to physician William Sumner. Daybook lists patient name, fee, and reason for visit; some accounts settled as late as 1761. Occasional personal financial transactions included. Pages 1-2 lacking. Also includes 1764 Mar. 23 note of William Sumner and 1768 Feb. 11 bond of Benajmin Sumner to William and Hannah Sumner.

Biographical / Historical
William Sumner, Hebron, Conn., physician, was born in Boston, Mass., on 18 Mar. 1699. He married Hannah Hunt, 11 Oct. 1721, and they had ten children. Sumner practiced medicine in Hebron from 1724 until 1768; he then removed to Claremont, N.H., and died there on 4 Mar. 1778.
