Overview
This daybook contains medical observations and recipes from Philadelphia resident, Dr. Solomon Bush. The son of Mathias Bush, Dr. Solomon Bush practiced medicine around the time of the Revolutionary War despite not having any formal training. In addition to his medical case studies and remedy recipes, his daybook also includes a memorandum of his marriage to Ann, the daughter of Christopher Marshall on April 2, 1791. The announcement of the birth of his son, Nathan Marshall Bush, follows on February 23rd, 1792. This collection was discovered during a survey in the summer and fall of 2015.
