Biographical / Historical
William Hallock Park, New York bacteriologist, was born on 30 Dec. 1863. He died on 6 Apr. 1939. Park received an A.B. from the College of the City of New York in 1883 and an M.D. from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1886. From 1894 to 1937, Park was director of the New York Health Department's Bureau of Laboratories. From 1897 to 1937, he was professor of bacteriology and hygiene at the University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College. He was also a consulting bacteriologist for the New York State Department of Health and the U.S. Quarantine Service. In 1923, Park was president of the American Public Health Association.
