This small collection contains materials related to the investigation of the 1976 Legionnaires' disease outbreak in Philadelphia. It includes letters from the public; an investigation journal that acts as a timeline of the outbreak investigation; survey data and reports; and articles and reprints on Legionnaires’ disease. Researchers should note that access to folder 3 is restricted to protect patient privacy.
Philip Leidy papers
This small collection of Philip Leidy material, 1880-1887, contains several letters, a formal presentation on nervous cases, some informal remarks, and report on the second recorded autopsy of Chinese man performed in United States.
The letter to G. L. Fisher describes delivery of diploteratologic fetus, and the letter to Philip C. Garrett presents Leidy’s views on treatment of insane patients.
Photographs of the wounded in the naval battles in Russo-Japanese War

Suzuki of injury and treatment of Japanese sailors and Russian prisoners of war, 1904-1905; includes initials of sailors and officers and battle and date on which wounds were received. Photographs primarily depict amputations, burns, and gunshot wounds. Includes typed letter signed, 1909 Feb. 19, of James Evelyn Pilcher concerning provenance of album.
